TelePi - IoT y domótica con ESP8266 y RaspberryPi
Starting a home automation project is expensive and generally out of reach for many pockets. Let's find the way to do something simple and cheap, which also allows us to level up when we are ready. It must be easy. Control of lights, shutters or temperature, alarm and security, monitoring of elderly or children ...
Today the most of electronics manufacturers have launched their own solutions in the field of home automation and even some of them have reasonable prices. Even so, a system composed of a set of numerous elements continues to come out quite expensive and complex in the best scenary.
Problems we encounter if we want to interconnect our devices and automate a home:
- High price of the many elements that we would like to install.
- Incompatibility of different manufacturers.
- Difficulties to carry out adequate wiring in houses already built.
- External access to the system, through the Internet, independent of external companies.
A high price and excessive complexity make us give up trying to introduce these technologies into our homes. From TelePi we will make easier the way for those people who want to start putting more technology into their homes.
Take, for example, ITEAD's Sonoff case. It is a device that can be obtained for about 5 ~ 7 $ and it can become a very useful piece. The problem with its original firmware lies mainly in its dependence on an Internet connection, so that its system is very diverted for projects that are disconnected or that must be operative despite a disconnection. Itead has been making some moves in recent months that we should reevaluate (we will soon), but in any case, if we want independence from the manufacturers we need an alternative way.
Thus, we propose the Telepi project as a powerful and economical solution to go into the Internet of things and integrate it into a domotic system in our home.
